Bébé bière
This video uses inlaying as a technique to create the background for a wrestling match between two men. The inlaid segments are from a black and white film shot as a “cinéma-vérité”. They illustrate the typical reactions displayed by spectators attending any major sporting event. A third shot crosses the screen in the form of an ironic, advertisement-like message. The result is a technological recreation of the atmosphere of a televised match. Although a connection between this work and Falardeau-Poulin's 1971 work Contionuons le Combat may be implied, Bébé Bière's emphasis, unlike the other work, is on technology rather than theory...
