Fly Me to the Moon
Fly Me to the Moon is comprised of a series of stills, shot with a digital photo camera and animated with a computer. The sound is the first few seconds of Frank Sinatra’s famous song, the part before he starts singing, which, along with the images, is repeated over and over. The effect is intended to be at once annoying and hypnotic. This work is an attempt to put the viewer in a state of distraction in which her mind may wander or even “fly” to the moon.
