"As he has in many of his films, Robert Morin gives the floor to marginal people. To the people we only half listen to, who, one way or another, are alienated from social conventions. [...] All these characters gain new-found dignity with Morin, a poetry and beauty they are usually refused. They find a tribune to express themselves. This is less true for Morin : for twenty years, his videos have been ignored by television and thus very little seen. This is hard to take for someone for whom filming is an almost political act. Morin has a big mouth and things to say. His lucid and socially committed ideas are often pretty hard-hitting. People say his films are too heavy. They call him a "shit disturber". He’s shocked. "But life is heavy! Cinema has to deal with life, and life isn’t the story of Bambi. In any event, he adds, TV has become a medium for stupefying people rather than for waking them up. It’s as if literature had been invented just to publish Archie comic books"."
