Commentary by Claire Valade, Film critic from Quebec:

"This profile of Robert Morin, one of the most significant directors in Quebec film and video history, is particularly interesting because it captures Morin at a major career crossroads. Back in 1989, all the elements were already in place for his future body of work : an affinity for popular culture and working-class life, a keen eye for splicing together unusual bits of recovered footage in order to divert, transform and reinvent images and create new narrative threads, and, above all, an implacable desire to tell stories, whether through documentaries or fictions - and usually both at once. We even have the pleasure of seeing the very beginnings of his extraordinary Yes Sir! Madame…, which would become one of his signature pieces."
